Sihatma Dinara Dissanayake's daughter who went on a pilgrimage and did not return

A bus that was on a sightseeing trip from Thambuttegama to Bandarawela overturned on the road at the Dunhinda 04 Kanuwa area in the Eppawala Police Division, killing a 14-year-old student from Batuwatte, Meegassegama.

The deceased has been identified as Sihatma Dinara Dissanayake, a Grade 9 student at Kiralogama Subodhi Maha Vidyalaya, a resident of Batuwatte, Mahameegassegama.

She is the youngest daughter in a family of 5 daughters.

She had participated in a sightseeing trip with her mother to see several places including the Kumbalwela Asapuwa, and the mother sustained minor injuries in the accident.

The daughter died on the spot in the accident.

They had left for a picnic with a group of relatives from the Thambuttegama Pahalagama family in a bus belonging to a family member in the early hours of the 21st. While returning home after completing the picnic, the bus overturned on the road at the 04th Kanawa area in Dunhinda and three people were crushed to death on the spot.

Relatives of the family also say that the body of the deceased daughter has been severely damaged.

As of this afternoon (22), her body had not been brought home.
