Shooting in Akmeemana area.
A house in the Wewegodawatte area of Akmeemana, Galle has been shot at.
Police said the shooting took place early this morning (23).
Police say two people on a motorbike carried out the shooting using a 9mm firearm.
It is also reported that no one in the house was injured in the shooting.
Police say the house of an executive officer of a factory in the Midigama area was the target of the shooting.
Police suspect that an employee who was dismissed from service a few days ago is involved in the shooting.
Police say the employee in question was recently dismissed from the factory due to some problem and the dismissed employee had threatened the executive officer over the phone.
Further investigations are underway into the shooting.
