A person who poses half-naked in front of the camera is not like that in real life - Palika
This time, Sirasa Gossip spoke to Mayanthi Palika Karunanayake Jayawardena, an emerging model who came to your doorstep as a TV presenter and has now changed her path and entered the modeling industry. This is the full conversation we had with Mayanthi.
Name: - Mayanthi Palika Karunanayake Jayawardena
Date of Birth: - March 09
School: Yashodara Balika Vidyalaya, Colombo
Village: Godagama
What is the story with these dogs?
Here's how... As a hobby, I do dog grooming and feeding. I love animals very much.
How did you get into the industry? How long have you been in this industry?
Earlier, I worked as a TV presenter. After that, I came into the modeling industry. I have only been in the modeling industry for a short time.
Then I joined acting.
I first came to acting through Prasad Abeykoon's music video Mandakini. I got involved in it through my friend Prabath Ranaweera.
Did you have a dream since childhood to join the modeling/acting industry?
Not that I didn't have a dream. Anyway, I have been interested in art since childhood. Even in school, I participated in a lot of extracurricular activities.
If I remember those who helped me....
The first person who really helped me to come forward as a model was Imesh Nuwandaka. I apologize for not being able to mention everyone's names. Many people still help me today.
What are your limitations when modeling?
The limitations come from our minds. But if we are doing a profession, we have to do justice to it.
If you were offered a semi-nude role... what kind of decision would you make in such a situation?
It depends on the role you get. Because acting is a valuable thing. We need to know that when we act, we should do our best. So if we can give a good message to society, it doesn't matter if we do it. It's right to keep acting and personal life separate. A person who has done a semi-nude role in front of a camera will not become that person in real life.
What are you looking forward to doing in the future?
I have a few projects to take on in the future. Songwriting, a few TV commercials... things like that...
What do you have to say about modeling in Sri Lanka?
I'm really happy. I hope to go a long way. It's difficult. But I won't give up.
What do you think about how far I've come...
What do you dislike most about acting/modeling?
What I dislike most about seeing is saying things here and there. We do something with someone out of trust. But then that person goes around saying it wrongly, that's very unfair. I can't show them. I'm a straight-talking, straight-talking person anyway. That's why I get really angry when things like that happen.
What do you think about love....?
Love is a very beautiful experience.
Are you currently in love? A lover?
No... I'm currently a free person.
How was your experience with school love?
Um... I have had many experiences with school love. They are short-term. Very beautiful.
Now many people do social work. They also do such things by collecting money through the social network Facebook. What is your opinion on this?
That's a good thing. Social work is a good thing no matter how you do it. But if you do wrong things in the name of it, it's wrong.
What is your opinion about politics?
Politics is something we have created to rule a country. But there are few people who do politics correctly.
